CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser’s Executive Director to take on CEO role of CMHA Toronto

October 8, 2020 – Vancouver, BC: It is with mixed emotions that we announce Michael Anhorn, the Executive Director of CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser, has accepted a new position at CMHA Toronto as their Chief Executive Officer.  Michael’s last day with CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser is Friday, November 6, 2020.

“I am excited for Michael and his new opportunity and saddened to watch him go.  Michael has done much for our team, for the community, as well as for myself.  He is not only a colleague but also a friend and a role model.  I am confident he will do amazing things for the community of Toronto. I wish him well,” stated Shawn McNaughton, Board President, CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser.

Both Michael and the Board are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible.  The Board has already begun deliberations regarding interim leadership and management to serve while a search is conducted for CMHA-VF’s new Chief Executive Officer.

The board and leadership team will work together closely to ensure that the search for the new CEO will serve the best interests of our clients, staff and communities.

Although any change in leadership brings with it challenges and uncertainty, it also brings opportunities and new possibilities. The Board is focused on maximizing the opportunities and new possibilities and minimizing the challenges.
